AC Day Three 018

CAREER PATHWAYS

Our goal is that people are better off for being part of Connetics.
We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We understand that a linear career pathway doesn’t suit everyone, and that we need to provide a variety of learning opportunities to enable people to grow.

We also believe that we should never stop learning.

Our 2020+ vision is ‘to lead the way in creating a new possible future for our industry’. Two of our 2020+ Vision outcomes are:

  1. Our people are better off for being a part of Connetics.
  2. We have transformed the way the industry develops capability.

In service of these outcomes, we are continually working with our people to understand how we can help them develop their career. In fact, we are so passionate about transforming industry capability that we are embarking on a joint initiative with Orion NZ Ltd to re-imagine the way the New Zealand electrical industry develops capability. There are various ways to grow your career with Connetics, so we asked a few people about their learning journey with us...

Meg hocquard
My internship at Connetics allowed me to immerse myself in an ever-changing and fast paced business environment. I was always learning and continued to watch myself grow in more ways than I thought possible.
- Meg Hocquard, University of Canterbury Student, Connetics HR Intern
Wasi
As part of my engineering qualification, I completed work experience at Connetics and later secured a graduate position. Connetics is a company where my values align with its values. The culture is one of the many things that I enjoy about Connetics.
- Wasi Azmi, Graduate Design Engineer
Carson
Connetics Engineering Cadetship broadened my Industry knowledge in a very unique way. Not only did I gain the Engineering knowledge from Ara, but I also learnt a lot about applying that knowledge in the field and what makes Connetics tick. Having practical experience in our industry has been incredibly valuable. In my role as Project Specialist, I am able to step in to nearly any environment and hit the ground running.
- Carson Cox, Projects Specialist, Connetics Engineering Cadetship Graduate
Paul Dion
The thing I liked about the (Connetics) training programme was the practical skills that it gave me. I like doing this job because it takes me places and it's not the same job everyday.
- Paul Dion, Electrical Fitter, Connetics Apprenticeship Programme Graduate

Connetics holds positive relationships with education providers, industry partners, our shareholder Orion and our CCHL Group partners. We are constantly working together to create opportunities for our people.
