News Connetics Named Finalists for HR Team of the Year and HR Director of the Year Awards 05 FEBRUARY 2024

We are proud to share the exciting news that Connetics is a finalist in two categories at the HRD Awards 2024!

The HR Team of the Year Award recognises a team who have demonstrated excellence in the past 12 months, while the HR Director of the Year Award celebrates an HR leader whose achievements in the areas of communication, strategy, drive, and results are second to none.

Kudos to our brilliant team, who, under the leadership of Mark Lewis (Head of People and Culture) have implemented a number of bold and innovative solutions to grow our workforce, ensuring its long-term sustainability as Aotearoa prepares itself for an electric future.

HR Team of the Year

Being named a finalist for HR Team of the Year is a testament to the unwavering dedication, innovation, and commitment of our incredible People and Culture team. A deep dive into workforce planning and a complete re-design of Connetics’ recruitment process are among their many achievements.

Not only that, but the team has worked tirelessly to create an environment where employees feel valued and supported.

Chief Executive, John Thompson says the team’s efforts have had a profound impact.

“Thanks to them, we’ve weathered the storm of talent shortages and emerged stronger, more resilient, and better positioned for future growth.”

HR Director of the Year

A round of applause for our very own Mark Lewis, Head of People and Culture! Mark has been named as a finalist for HR Director of the Year, recognised for his work in spearheading strategic HR initiatives amidst considerable challenges. His leadership has facilitated winning the war for talent and increasing employee engagement.

A big focus for Mark is on increasing opportunities for women in the sector, so last year he teamed up with GirlBoss New Zealand to help bring their annual “GirlBoss” awards to Canterbury. Region-specific awards hadn’t been done before, but Mark took the lead and raised well over $50,000 for trail-blazing young woman.

Alexia Hilbertidou, CEO of GirlBoss New Zealand fully supports Mark’s nomination:

“Mark is worth a team of 100 people. His energy and output are second to none - we are truly blessed to have him on our team. He is an example to all of us of the difference we can make in people’s lives if we put our mind to it.”

What’s next?

The winners of the awards will be announced at the National HR Summit in New Zealand on Wednesday 10 April.
