Connetics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Orion New Zealand Limited, which is owned by Christchurch City Holdings Limited (on behalf of Christchurch City Council) and Selwyn District Council. We’re a fully commercial business – we compete for work and win it on merit. Our public ownership gives you a partner with the financial stability to commit to your programme for the long haul, invest in the capability your project needs, and still be here in 50 years when it matters.
Our team of over 400 people works from two permanent bases. Our headquarters at Waterloo Business Park in Waitaha / Canterbury houses our largest fleet, warehousing, and the majority of our field and office teams. Our Northern team is based in Tawa, Pōneke / Wellington. For your project, that means permanent people and infrastructure in both islands, with the ability to mobilise crews and gear to wherever the work is.
We operate an integrated Engineer, Procure, Construct model. Our three teams – Design & Engineering, Supply & Logistics, and Contracting Services – work as a single unit from concept through to energisation. Field experience shapes every design, materials arrive when the programme needs them, and one team stays accountable through to handover. For your project, that means a single point of responsibility and fewer gaps between what gets planned and what gets built.
Connetics has operated as a dedicated electrical infrastructure business since 1996, as part of an operational lineage that reaches back to Christchurch’s first public electricity supply in 1903.
